Hope Through Film: Suicide Prevention with new charity Anchor
we believe in the power of storytelling to drive meaningful change. When Anchor, a newly established suicide prevention charity in Inverclyde, approached us to create an awareness video, we knew it had to be more than just a film—it had to be a lifeline. Our goal was to craft a narrative that would resonate deeply, shedding light on the silent struggles many face and encouraging those in crisis to seek support.
Project Overview
Objective: Develop an emotionally compelling video to raise awareness and encourage those struggling to reach out for help.
Client: Anchor (formerly Man On!)
Industry: Mental Health & Suicide Prevention
The Challenge
The video had to connect with both those struggling and their loved ones, reinforcing the importance of community support.
Suicide prevention campaigns often struggle to balance emotional impact with responsible storytelling.
Anchor needed a film that felt authentic, relatable, and hopeful, rather than sensationalized.
The Creative Approach
Act 1: A man appears to lead a normal life, playing with his daughter and going about his day. Yet beneath the surface, he is struggling. The audience follows him to the water’s edge, uncertain of what will happen next.
Act 2: A fade to black leaves the outcome unknown. But then, a note from his daughter and a message from a friend about Anchor pull him back. Hope enters the frame.
Shot entirely on location across Inverclyde, the film is rooted in the real spaces and communities Anchor serves, making the message feel even more personal.
This project underscores our commitment to creating content that sparks change. By blending cinematic storytelling with social impact, we helped Anchor deliver a message that can quite literally save lives.
